Flirty Friday

Happy Friday! It's my last full day of school and finals start on Monday. Wish me luck, I most likely won't post until Sunday and that will be my regularly scheduled Sunday Pinnings. And then I probably won't post until later on Wednesday or Thursday. Sorry for my posts being so scarce lately. As one of my friends said, Preppy Daily isn't being so daily. Hope you can forgive me! I hope y'all are studying hard for finals and/or already having a fun summer.
For this Flirty Friday, as you can see, I was digging the neon colors. I thought this was such a cute look to wear if you're just shopping around in the summer. Hope you like it!

What is My Life.

With exams coming up at the start of next week, let's just say I've been pretty stressed lately. There's a lot going on, and I most likely won't be posting everyday. Half of the reason is my packed schedule, and the other have being pure laziness because I'm in such a lull waiting for summer. I hope y'all can understand, but if there are any guest posters that want to post during these times feel free too! I'll need posters for next week too if you want to. Click on the Guest Posting tab at the top of the page, or click here. Just fill out the form and begin to write your post. Email me back with your post as soon as you finish it. But, obviously my blog is not very widely read, so if there are no postings between this week and the beginning of next, don't be surprised because I can't post and guest posters may be low in quantity. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great end of the year/summer. I'll post again when I'm out for summer. See you then!

Memorial Day

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Memorial Day! I know I am! I'm just going to be chilling at a pool party with a few of my friends, and just enjoying the weather. It's supposed to be a high of 72, so a little cool for swimming, but the rest of the week is supposed to be in the 80's! I know this is a super short post, but I just wanted to wish y'all a happy Memorial Day! Have a great day everyone and soak up the sun!

Graduation!

With my sister graduating high school extremely soon, I thought it'd be appropriate to share with you some graduation themed posts. So first I'd like to share with you a few outfits to wear to graduation parties. A formal look and a more casual look to suit any party. I know with my sister being a senior she'll be heading out to graduation parties a lot so this post can definitely help. Also, for anyone that knows a senior, etc. this post could help you decide what to wear!

Graduation Party Looks

Also, I thought I couldn't complete this post without giving suggestions of graduation gifts. These gifts range from prices depending on how well you know the person. If it is someone that you are very close with or family with you would probably want to get them a more expensive gift, but if it someone you are not close with you can get by giving them a less personal and less expensive gift.

Graduation Gifts

Mini Fridge: This will be perfect for someone's dorm room! This pink is super cute too!
Bedding: Surely the new graduate will need bedding for their dorm room and PB Teen has amazing bedding! Their bedding is extremely durable and soft and will last all of the long college years.
Money/Gift Cards: These gifts are pretty universal if you're unsure of what to get them. This money will definitely be put to good use in their college use.
Lilly Agenda: These are extremely perfect for any student whatever the age! These will especially be helpful for students that are in college to keep organized and the prints are so adorable too!
Organizational Bins: These are great for any student in their dorms to stay organized. They are great to keep a dorm clutter free and maximize minimum space.
Cork Board: These are great to add a little inspiration and personalization to a dorm. You can post pictures, flyers, anything really! They add something fun to your wall and definitely make your dorm more personalized.

OTHER GIFT IDEAS
  • Personalized Photo Book/Album: These can either be homemade with just using a photo album and throwing a bunch of pictures for memories in, or they can be legit crafted from a website. My Aunt often makes these online and then orders them for the family. They are so cute and are very high quality. Check out this website for more info! Shutterfly or also check out Blurb!
  • A collection of photos: Nothing brings back memories like old photos! Plus they will help keep the graduate from getting homesick if they can see their family through photos.  These photos could be given with a bunch of frames, or with some wire and clothespins so that they can string the photos.

I hope this post was helpful if you needed a gift for a graduate! Leave a comment below of any other ideas that you have for graduation gifts!

New Design

I'm sure if you're reading this post you've seen my new blog design. I was feeling that my old design was a little too wild and sort of cheesy looking. Haha, I don't know. Let me know what you guys think of this new design in the comments below! I used two of my favorite colors, coral and navy. This is a super short post, but I just wanted to know what y'all think of this new design!

Survive Finals!

Since Summer is approaching, yet there are still many things to do before it, I thought I'd write about how to survive finals. I'm definitely not the most knowledgable about finals since I'm just a freshman in high school, but still I wanted to share with you the things I do to better prepare myself for finals.

1. Figure out your needed score!

Before even attempting to tackle studying for finals I always check what score I need on the final to get a desired grade in a class. This website is especially helpful! http://rogerhub.com/final-grade-calculator/

2. Notecards, notecards and more notecards!

Honestly, notecards are the way to go! They are so helpful because anyone can quiz you and you can transport them too! They are time consuming, and they are in huge stacks, but they are worth the time and effort!

3. Get help!

If you're truly not understanding something in a class, ask your teacher for help! They will be more than happy to help. Also, what good is it going to do you if you don't understand a topic and it shows up on the final, #screwed!

4. Find a study space!

Is it easier for you to study with friends or alone? Quiet or with music? Figure out what works best for you and what will help you the most. Also, be sure if you study with friends that they are on the same level as you. You don't want to be teaching your buddy everything, but you also don't want to be confused by a too smart group.

5. Relax!

Take frequent breaks so that your brain can stay focused. Be sure that you aren't wasting time just lying there doing nothing while studying. If you feel like you need a break, take one! But, don't take super long of breaks where you can easily get distracted and give up on studying.

6. Work over time!

Don't try to cram everything into your head the night before as this will not be effective. Gradually learn the material over time to be sure that you take in all the material.

7. Comprehend!

When studying make sure that you don't just study specific problems, make sure you understand the material as a whole. It will do you no good if you study specific problems rather than the logic behind them because the specific questions that you study are not guaranteed to be on the final.

8. Stress, but don't over stress!

Make sure that you stress enough to get all of your work done, but don't be stressing out to a breaking point. You don't want to go into the final all freaked out by anxiety! You want to be stressed enough, but if you over stress you will have testing anxiety and this will not allow you to perform your best on the final.

9. Be comfy, but professional on testing day!

I know that fashion is the least of everyone's worries on testing day, but make sure that you wear something that you'll be able to focus in. Don't wear something uncomfortable that you'll be pulling and tugging at the whole time, but don't wear pajamas that will make you fall asleep. Be comfortable, but also realistic with your fashion choices.

10. Come prepared!

Always show up ready to take a test! Make sure you have 2 #2 pencils ready and sharpened, plus a calculator if you need one. Also bring any other supplies that you'll need to properly take your test. Be sure to eat a balanced and filling breakfast before your test and get at least 8 hours of sleep the night before.

I hope these tips help you to get through your finals, because I know I'm stressing like cray cray! I hope that you all get A's on your finals, and that I do too! Before I end this post I want to give some inspirational quotes to help you make it through finals week!

"Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail."
-John Wooden

"If success seems unlikely, that should be your reason to push even harder."
-Unknown

"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!"
-Audrey Hepburn

"I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination."
-Jimmy Dean

Bittersweet Blair

I usually write about my fav Gossip Girl characters on Tuesdays, but I decided to trade Tag Tuesday and the Gossip Girl character posts. I wrote my first tag on Wednesday and usually write about Gossip Girl on Tuesdays, but I'm just going to swap the two.  Real quick, I want to share with you my usual schedule for this blog so you can better follow it.

Monday: Random
Tuesday: Tag
Wednesday: Gossip Girl
Thursday: Random
Friday: Flirty Friday
Saturday: Random, but I may or may not be posting on Saturday's anymore
Sunday: Pinning

So without further ado, here's my post about Blair Waldorf!

Blair is honestly an amazing character. She is so gorgeous and she is such a trendsetter. She is a very good role model fashion wise. She is into scheming, and that's something that I love about her. She lives such a lavish lifestyle and I'm totally jealous of her closet and her apartment! I think my favorite thing about Blair is that at the end of the day she has a heart. That's why I called this post Bittersweet Blair, because she can be so vicious at times, or she can be full of heart. But, I will always love her character because she just makes the show. When she loves someone, she really loves them, especially Chuck. Their relationship is so cute on the show, but so aggravating at times!  Her style is amazing and often I style some of my outfits like her. She always looks so put together and absolutely gorgeous. I think that Leighton Meester is absolutely perfect for the role of Blair and her character has significantly grown throughout the course of the show. Here are my favorite Blair Waldorf pictures/quotes and there are tons!

I love this swimsuit that Blair wears in the Hamptons. It's so adorable!

I love this Marc Jacobs dress that Blair wears to the white party in the Hamptons.

This look is so summery and fun with that adorable pink and white bike!

I just love this kelly green coat with peaks of yellow accents. So cute! Blair's style is amazing!

I just had to include this because it is her classic look. Since throughout much of the series they are in school I needed to have a pic of Blair in her school uniform. Also, she's wearing the classic headband that she always wears that symbolizes her tiara.

This is just great.

Blair's always got something going on with Chuck!

This is so true because Blair is the best schemer I know!

I included this quote in an early post about preppy lifestyle, but this quote is just too good not to include it again. I love it! I wouldn't say it's entirely true, but it's just so Blair Waldorf!

My dad on the cheek when I went to bed ha ha.

Definitely not.

Hashbrowns and bacon! From Waffle House of course!

Prom!

So on Saturday it was my sister Kristen's senior prom and I wanted to share with you a few pictures of her and how gorgeous she looked! She actually went to prom her junior year too, with one of her best guy friends who was a senior. I would've posted this on Sunday, but I wanted to stay true to my schedule of sunday pinning. Happy reading!

Me, my sister Kristen and my cousin Hilary

Kristen and one of her best friends Michala

Kristen and her date (her boyfriend) Ian

Me, Kristen, Michala and my friend Paige

My cousin Hannah, their friend Catherine and Kristen

A group photo. Hannah and her date, Bria and her date, Catherine and her date, Kristen and Ian, Jules, and Averil (Jules date was late and Averil went alone-which is surprising considering how gorgeous she looks!)

Another group pic.

So that's it for prom pictures. The theme was "All That Jazz", but Kristen said there were really no decorations that suggested the theme. Kristen had a blast and she looked gorgeous! I think it was a great way to remember senior prom.

I hope all of your Sunday's are going swell, and I hope that everyone is catching up on all of their schoolwork for the end of the year, unless you're already out. Last night was my sister's senior prom (tear) and she had a blast! So expect Monday's post to have pictures of my gorgeous sister in her prom dress and with her date. But, for today here are some of my fav pins from this week. P.S. I'm addicted to pinterest! Happy reading!

A J.Crew Summer

For me J.Crew is a place to shop for all of the essentials. There clothes are simply timeless and last super long. The clothes hold up very well through the stains and the washes. I've been very impressed with all of the great clothes that I have purchased there. So, here are a few things that I've been loving off their website lately. These are mostly things that I'm looking forward to wearing/purchasing in the summer! Happy reading!

Flirty Friday

For today's Flirty Friday I wanted to just go along with yesterday's post about hipster looks. This look to me is actually really cute and reminds me of living in California, which is one of my lifelong dreams. Happy Friday!

hiP$teR

Since the beginning of the year I probably have complained so much about people trying to be hipster, but honestly the fashion is starting to grow on me now. I think I don't mind the look as much now because this is just is what is in stores right now. It is the trend. But, sometimes people are a little over the top with it, but hey, they are just being themselves. So here is a cool place to get hipster-ish clothes. Brandy Melville. I went to Brandy Melville in LA and the whole store surprised me very much. It had a very chaotic, yet laid back vibe. It was mostly local California people searching for clothes. But, if you look online they actually have some very cute clothes and jewelry. So, if I were ever trying to go for a "hipster" look, these are a few pieces that I'd like to pick up.

Tag: 100 Questions Nobody Asks

Before I get into this post I wanted to say that there have been a few malfunctions with my blogging system this week. On Monday, I was much too busy to pre-set a post, so my post was late. Then, today I wrote my post last night and pre-scheduled it to post today at midnight. But for some reason, it put the post before the one that I wrote yesterday. I really don't know what's going on, but I seriously hope it is fixed and that this post works fine!
So without further ado, let's get into the post! Today I wanted to do a tag video, and I know that's a lot of reading and not pictures, but I thought it'd be fun! Also, since I just recently started this blog a lot of my readers know hardly anything about me! So here we go: 100 questions nobody asks! But, keep in mind that this is just the first 25. I don't think you all would want to read that many questions at once, and I definitely don't want to write all of those right now! Happy reading!

1. Do you sleep with your closet doors closed or open?
I always sleep with my closet doors closed because otherwise it looks creepy to me. Like there are seriously monsters in my closet and keeping the doors closed keeps the monsters out.

2. Do you take the shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotels?
I usually don't, but my mom almost always does. Especially when we stay at the Ritz-Carlton because my mom loovveeess their L'occatine shampoos and conditioners.

3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
I sleep with my sheets tucked out because even if I tuck them in they are going to untuck themselves sooner or later.

4. Have you ever stolen a street sign before?
I have never, but I've seen them lying around and have wanted to, but honestly I'd have no where to put them!

5. Do you like to use post-it notes?
Yes! I absolutely love post-it notes. They work so perfectly, but they have to be actual post-it brand. Otherwise, if you write on the part that is on the other side of the sticky part it gets streaky. I don't know it's weird.

6. Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
If I get coupons in the mail, or find them lying around my house I put them in my room thinking I'll use them, but then never do.

7. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees?
Definitely a bear so I'd have a chance to fight for my life. Bees I feel like would just sting me and hurt me. But, on the other hand bees you'd most likely live (unless you're extremely allergic to bee stings), whereas with a bear, you could die. It's debatable for me.

8. Do you have freckles?
Tons of them. I'm a freckly girl.

9. Do you always smile for pictures?
I almost always smile for pictures, but if I don't smile I always pose for pictures.

10. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I think one of my biggest pet peeves is probably people interrupting me. I can't stand it and it always happens. Also, when I'm not included in a conversation it irks me so much. Also, girls that are very dramatic, but not in a funny way, really bug me too!

11. Do you ever count your steps when you walk?
I don't usually, but I have to switch off which foot (left or right) touches a crack on the sidewalk sometimes.

12. Have you ever peed in the woods?
Yes.

13. Have you ever pooped in the woods?
No.

14. Do you ever dance even if there's no music playing?
Always! I'm a dancer so I never really walk around my house, I dance around my house.

15. Do you ever chew on your pens and pencils?
Sometimes, if I'm bored enough to.

16. How many people have you slept with this week?
This question is pretty irrelevant for a 15 year old girl, but zero.

17. What size is your bed?
Queen.

18. What is your song of the week?
What Now by Rihanna.

19. Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
Absolutely. Everyone can wear pink!

20. Do you still watch cartoons?
I don't really watch them now because I never really watched them as a child. My favorites as a kid were Lizzie McGuire, etc. and those Disney Channel shows and I still love watching Disney Channel today. It's timeless.

21. What's your least favorite movie?
One movie that I didn't like was The Vow because I hated the ending! Another movie I didn't love was New Moon of the Twilight Series.

22. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
Somewhere you couldn't find it.

23. What do you drink with dinner?
Water almost always, or milk.

24. What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
Ranch or honey mustard. Yum.

25. What is your favorite food?
Fruit snacks, bruschetta, steak, pomme frites, goldfish, and anything from FoodLife.

Be sure to stay tuned for the other 75 questions to be answered in other Tuesday's blog posts. It'll be Tag Tuesday, although this first one is being written on a Wednesday because I didn't think of it until today!

XOXO, Kate

Charming Charles

I'm guessing from previous posts you understand my obsession with Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is not just a show, it's a way of life for me. I try to be just like the gossip girls (not the bad stuff-just the classy parts) and live their life! Because let me just say, they lead very glamorous lives. But, enough about the girls, the guys are glam as well. But, one character has such a deep personality and that is Charles, or Chuck Bass.
I started out watching the show and HATING Chuck. I was thinking, "Why is he even on the show? He is just there for us to hate." But, as the show progressed, I ended up LOVING him. He grew so much as a character and is the sweetest guy every. Sure, he has lots of underlying issues because of his father, but Blair is fine to work through them! I simply cannot get enough of Chuck Bass because he is amazing! (P.S. Did you know Ed Westwick, the guy who plays Chuck, is actually British?)
So here are a few of my favorite quotes and pictures of the one, the only, Chuck Bass.

I don't know how you get more classier than a white suit.  Chuck looks stunning at the white party in this outfit. I just love him.

I had to include this pic of him wearing his infamous scarf. He's just so great.

Truly on my bucket list of things to do is to hear Ed Westwick (guy who plays Chuck Bass) say to me in person, "I'm Chuck Bass." It would be amazing.

He's just a classy kid that goes yachting.

This isn't like an amazing picture of him or anything, but I love, love love this mint suit he's wearing. Plus, I love all the signature bow ties that Chuck wears. They are so preppy!

XOXO, Kate

P.S. I had to re-blog this because somehow something got screwed up and it was posting it yesterday when it was supposed to post today. I don't know what happened, but it's fixed now. Sorry!
